Vintage Bookends Syroco Wood "Red Lion" Inn Sailing Ship Clipper Wharf Nautical

Vintage bookends featuring a tall clipper ship anchored next to a seaside pub or inn with a sign that reads "Red Lion" below a statue of a red lion. Bookends have an "old world" appearance, painted in brown with red accents. Heavy and sturdy, great nautical decor! Measurements: each bookend is 5 7/8" W x 6 5/8" H x 2 1/2" D. Bookends in very good preowned condition, with patina of age and expected signs of use: small chips at some edges, corners, and high points of molding. Felt bottoms. Original stickers on back with some wear to stickers. Production of this product, known as Syroco Wood, was the mainstay of the company's production through the 1940s.
