HERMAN'S HERMITS
HOLD ON!
This is the 1966 US release of Hold On! by Herman's Hermits.
1966 was the year the Beatles came to Japan, and Herman's Hermits also visited Japan that same year. Although they were both British groups, the two groups' reputations have diverged greatly over the past 60 years. However, it's pleasing that Peter Noone, the vocalist of this group, is still actively performing live, just like Paul and Ringo.
It is said that they were more popular than the Beatles in America in 1965, and I believe the flow was that their starring movie was produced under American leadership, and this soundtrack album was released. It's the Herman's Hermits version of Help!, so to speak. This is evident from the fact that the title track, HOLD ON!, starts abruptly without an intro, just like the Beatles' HELP! on their album. Incidentally, four songs on the album were co-written by P.F. Sloan, who later became successful as a solo artist, and Steve Barri, so the quality of the songs is high.
The jacket is intact without any splits, but the bottom right opening is torn about 10cm due to aging. There are two drill holes. Other than that, there are some stains, but it's not bad.
The record is flawless on both sides and can be enjoyed without noise. Of course, there are no skips.
