The Carlisle was widely used by American medics and infantry units throughout the war. It was often carried in a medic's pouch and was also widely held by staff working in aid stations and field hospitals. Early models were housed in metal Carlisle cans, which were issued to each member of the U.S. Army.

I obtained this about 35 years ago.
I researched various things on the internet for the listing.
I remember that there were plenty of them to throw away at the time, but it seems that they are no longer in circulation.
On overseas sites, they seem to be available relatively cheaply, but is it because of shipping costs or the fact that they are not sold to Japan in the first place?
